Typica: Software for Coffee Roasting Operations

Previous Year Production Comparison Report

The Previous Year Production Comparison report can be used to show the amount of roasted coffee produced over a given range of time and the amount of roasted coffee produced over the same range of dates in the year prior.

The report is itemized on the roasted coffee item, so if switching to a new green coffee to produce a roasted coffee that fills an equivalent position in a product line, this report is easier to read if you re-use that roasted coffee item.

Options

Batch Type

It is possible to filter the report on batch type. You can choose to display only sample roasts, only production roasts, or all roasts. The most useful selection here is generally Production Roasts.

Approval

When roasting production batches, there is a check box to mark a batch as Approved or Not Approved. You can filter this report on approval status, choosing to display only Approved, only Not Approved, or Any approval status.

Date Range

Any desired date range can be selected for the current year. The previous year will be the same date range in the year prior to whatever is selected.

Days to Average

At the bottom of this report is a graph that shows roasted coffee production over time for the selected date range, for the prior year, the percent change between those, and a rolling average of the percent change. This controls the size of the window used to compute that rolling average.

Weight Unit

Weight data can be displayed in either pounds or kilograms.

Displayed Data

Change

The amount of roasted coffee produced in the previous year subtracted from the amount of roasted coffee produced in the current year. Positive values indicate more production.
